This has been an unforgettable year. I have met some of the most amazing people on the planet – recipients of my $10 and followers of my blog.
December 14th marks my 365th day of giving. I am bringing together as many of the recipients, blog followers and friends to celebrate this life-changing year. The event will be held here in Washington, DC at Tabaq, a fantastic spot at 1336 U Street in Northwest DC.
There will be an auction and raffle for fun and interesting prizes as well!
If you can not make it but still want to make a donation to support the event and charities (perhaps $10?), visit www.yearofgiving.org and you will see a link on the right side of the page for contributions. Proceeds will go to three rock-star nonprofits here in DC: DC Central Kitchen, Street Sense and the Urban Philharmonic.

It is my intentions to be there but I need to know if my attire is allowed. 26 Years of this attire makes it quite difficult to change for a function. Most churches, eating, grocery stores usually disallow me and places not covered by the “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service” law I have to fight with when it isn’t posted. I don’t know the nature of Tabaq Bistro therefore I must depend on your getting permission for me to attend. I intend to walk the 7 or so blocks, even if there’s snow, so let me know please.

I checked with the restaurant…you are fine to come as you are! Looking forward to seeing you. 6:30 – 9:00 pm Tues, Dec. 14th at Tabaq Bistro, 1336 U Street.
Hi Reed,
I am RSVPing for Dec 14th. I have the two dogs that you met int he park with me on day 265 (or was I day 263?). Can’t wait to see all the people you have met during your year of giving.
Best,
Heather
That’s wonderful Heather. I do remember… Petunia and Bear Bear as I recall. Looking forward to seeing you! – Reed
I plan to attend. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you Reed, although it was brief. This is most interesting. Humanity being human.
I wish I could make it to your year-end celebration! My own experience has been life-changing, as I know yours has. I felt kind of devastated at the end of my Month of Hundreds, and decided to keep the giving going at least once a week through the end of the year. Not sure what will happen then, but I have a different outlook on the strangers I encounter. Blessings on you in this last stage of your journey. Jill
This is going to be fabulous. Can’t wait to read the details somewhere!
